Common Questions

Are uniforms, medals, helmets, hats, guns, correspondences, etc. valuable?
Refer to “Appraisals”.

I’m trying to find information about my father’s unit in WWII. Can you help?
Go to the National Personnel Records and the National Archives.

How much is admission to the museum?
A minimum tax deductible $25 contribution per visitor is requested to help defray our operating expenses. Make checks payable to Museum of World War II, Inc.

Can my children visit?
We do not allow visitors under 18 years old except in rare circumstances: the minor must write us a detailed letter explaining their interest in World War II and why they want us to consider having them visit. They need to treat this letter seriously – we do. It is also necessary that one parent accompany a minor if they are visiting.

How do I schedule a visit?
The museum will make every attempt to grant your desired visit date; however, it is very difficult to arrange specific dates unless booked far in advance. Go to "Visits" for full information.

Can I take photos in the museum?
No. Photography is not allowed under any circumstances and cameras cannot be brought into the museum.

Where is the museum located?
The museum is located 20 minutes west of downtown Boston as the junction of the two major highways. We will send you directions and a map at the time of confirming the date of your visit. THE MUSEUM IS NOT LOCATED AT THE ADDRESS OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICES.

When is the museum open?
Our volunteers schedule visits on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays but they are frequently not available close to holidays, and never on Sundays. We do our best to accommodate what is needed and after you submit a visitor request form with your preferences, we will tell you when there is availability.
